While in the desert, she demands Siya to find the’sindoor’ out of the mythical sunflower plant. Durga Dai who not been able to defend Rajeshwari earlier in her life she was cursed to protect the objects she kept hidden. After forcing Siya through a series of difficult challenges and obstacles, she assists her in obtaining the sindoor. In order to reward Siya she gives the human qualities to Ram.
