In protest against this outdated thinking, Siya also refuses to be a part of the dahan and plays in ‘Holi’ using different colours in the event that Saroj Devi is not allowed to participate. Much to the displeasure of Mohini, Siya gets the backing of the women for her progressive behavior and Saroj Devi follows the rituals for the dahan. Amazingly, Siya gets the ‘dhaani Chunar’ after which Ram gets more motion in his legs.
